Compassion Residence is a group home dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for vulnerable populations, including children, youth, and young adults. Our purpose is to empower individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and behavioral challenges, ensuring they receive the care, support, and resources needed to thrive and transition into permanent care or independent living.

Who We Serve
At Compassion Residence, we provide services for
Children in Foster Care – A safe, stable, and caring environment for children in need of temporary or long-term care.
Young Adults (18-25) in the Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Program
A structured program designed to support young adults with disabilities as they transition into independent adulthood.

Many of our residents require specialized support as they navigate daily living, personal growth, and social integration.
Many of the individuals we serve are unable to remain in their family homes, making it essential for us to provide an environment where they feel secure, supported, and valued.

Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Program (Ages 18-25)
At Compassion Residence, our Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Program is designed to support young adults (ages 18-25) with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and behavioral needs as they transition from childhood into adulthood. This program provides a structured, nurturing, and empowering environment that fosters independence, self-sufficiency, and community integration.
Program Objectives
Our TAY Program focuses on:
- Independent Living Skills – Teaching essential skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, personal care, and time management to prepare residents for independent living.
- Education & Vocational Support – Assisting with academic development, job readiness training, employment opportunities, and vocational skill-building.
- Social Development & Community Integration – Encouraging participation in social activities, peer interactions, recreational programs, and community engagement.
- Behavioral & Mental Health Support – Implementing personalized behavior management plans, counseling resources, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Health & Well-being – Providing support with medication management, wellness programs, and access to healthcare professionals.
- Transition Planning – Helping young adults prepare for long-term housing, employment, and community-based living arrangements.
Why the TAY Program Matters
Many young adults with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges face difficulties navigating adulthood without proper support. The TAY Program ensures they receive the guidance, skills, and resources necessary to transition into a more independent and fulfilling life while maintaining the safety and structure they need.
