Adult Day Program, Weekend Respite & Summer Day Program

Compassion Residence now proudly offers a range of supportive programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, including our Adult Day Program, Weekend Respite Services, and our seasonal Summer Day Program for Children. These programs are designed to meet the unique needs of each participant while providing meaningful support for families and caregivers.
Adult Day Program
Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Our Adult Day Program supports adults aged 18+ with developmental disabilities through structured daytime activities that promote and further develop functional life skills, independence, and personal growth. Participants benefit from:
- Life and social skills development

Weekend Respite Services
Friday to Sunday | 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Designed for both children and adults, our Weekend Respite Services offer short-term, temporary relief for families and caregivers. Services are available every weekend and include:
- Safe, structured environment
- Personalized support and supervision
- Engaging activities and socialization
- Recreational games and crafts
- Movie and music time
- Community walks and outings
- Relaxation and sensory activities
- Overnight Stay

Summer Day Program for Children (Ages 5–10)
July & August | Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Our Summer Day Program offers a fun, supportive, and developmentally appropriate experience for children with developmental disabilities. This program is ideal for children ages 5 to 10 and includes promoting and facilitating independence as well as fostering individual growth and development.
- Arts & Crafts: Hands-on creative projects that encourage self-expression and fine motor skills, creating simple to complex art through a variety of mediums.
- Educational Enrichment: Age-appropriate learning sessions to promote cognitive development and school readiness, to explore learning styles and offer alternatives.
- Recreational Activities & Games: Group play, physical activity, and movement exercises to build coordination and encourage physical activeness
- Community Outings: Supervised trips to parks, splash pads, libraries, and child-friendly events (with parental consent)
- Toileting Support & Personal Care: Trained staff assist with toileting routines and hygiene, ensuring dignity and comfort, while maintaining privacy
- Social Skills Building: Guided interactions to develop communication, emotional regulation, and peer relationships, as well understanding and developing appropriate social skills.
- Daily Routines & Visual Schedules: Structured programming to support routine, predictability, structure and create a sense of security
